Troubleshooting Corepunk Issues

Installation Guide

1. Download the launcher installer Corepunk.Installer.exe from https://corepunk.com/en-us/download.

2. Double-click Corepunk.Installer.exe to start the installation.

3. Follow the installer steps. When prompted, choose a custom installation location rather than the default folder (this is recommended).

4. Run Corepunk Launcher.exe either from the desktop shortcut (if created) or from the folder where you installed the launcher.

Login Guide

1. Click the Login button inside the launcher.

2. A website https://auth.corepunk.com should open.

3. Log into the website using your account.
3.1. If you don't have an account, click "Register as new user" under login. Then, close the browser, return to the launcher, and click Login again to log in with your newly created account.

3.2 You will be prompted to confirm your account's email address. If the email does not arrive within a few seconds, click Resend Email.

4. You will be prompted to Activate Game Key. Again a website will open and navigate you to key activation screen.
4.1. Input your key from email received in the visible field and press Activate.

4.2. Click red "Activate" right next to the key that now should be visible in your keys list to confirm activation.

5. Select the installation destination for the game. By default, it will be installed in:
C:\[username]\Documents\Games | %userprofile%\Documents\Games

6. A game download should start.

Common purchase/email/activation issues.

  • I bought the Founder Pack, but there is no email with the Key!

If you purchased the game using your PayPal account, and the email associated with that PayPal account differs from the email you provided during the purchase process, the order and key will be sent to the email address linked to your PayPal account.

The key may take anywhere from couple seconds to few minutes to be sent to your email. First, check all of your inbox labels or tabs (For gmail often lands in "Offers", Spam etc.) to see if it has ended up there.

  • I Get the "You are not logged in" Screen or "not-found" blank website with just image

Synchronise your windows time, to do this: Right click windows Clock -> Adjust date/time -> Sync Now

Otherwise if you clicked the "view order" link from the email with the key or purchase order, simply go to https://auth.corepunk.com and manually create an account at the bottom of the page.

  • I bought the founder pack but key cannot be activated

For those who purchased Founder Packs in the first wave (403/405 packs in July/August 2024) or are eligible for a free account for participating in the Alpha 2 test, please reach out to support@corepunk.com. Include your email, a screenshot of your Alpha 2 key email or the key itself, and proof of purchase if applicable (if you don't have it, feel free to reach out anyway).

Launcher cannot be downloaded or shows a virus warning from browser or antivirus

If you're unable to download the launcher from https://corepunk.com/en-us/download or encounter a virus warning:

1. Disable your browser's Safe Browsing feature temporarily:
- Google Chrome: Go to chrome://settings/security then switch off Safe Browsing.
- Microsoft Edge: Navigate to Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services, and turn off the SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge feature.
- Mozilla Firefox: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security and uncheck the option under Deceptive Content and Dangerous Software Protection.

2. Download the launcher installer file. Once the download is complete, re-enable the browser's Safe Browsing feature (or its equivalent) to protect against future threats.

3. If your antivirus flags the file instead of the browser, create a new folder where you wish to download the .exe add this folder to your antivirus' exceptions list, then run the installer. Tutorial how to add exceptions in antivirus software

4. If the game is blocked or removed (Corepunk.exe dissapears from game folder) when you attempt to run it, add the game's installation directory to your antivirus' exceptions list as well.

Localhost cannot be reached / refused to connect to auth.corepunk.com

Sync your system time
Incorrect system time can cause connection issues. To resolve this:
1. Open the Time & date settings in Windows.
2. Click the Sync now button to ensure your system time is accurate.
3. Retry running the launcher after making these changes.

If you haven't tried yet, run launcher as admin (Right click > Properties > Compability > check "Run as administrator" > Apply).

Check if the login server is online
First, manually open https://auth.corepunk.com in your browser.
If the page does not load, the login server may be offline or inaccessible at this time. Wait and try again later.

Delete broken cache files
1. Hit Windows key+R on your keyboard and input %localappdata% then hit enter.
2. Navigate to Artificial Core\Corepunk folder.
3. Delete start.dat file.
4. Restart the launcher.

Adjust network adapter settings
If you use a VPN or have multiple network adapters installed, the launcher may not know which adapter to use for returning the request. To fix this:
1. Open Network & Internet settings in Windows.
2. Go to Change adapter options.
3. Disable all network adapters except the one providing your internet connection.
4. Disable Proxy settings in windows.
5. Run launcher after making these changes.

Update button being stuck

1. Click the wrench icon
2. Press uninstall
3. install again

If you don't want to redownload entire game (slow internet or other reasons) you will need to press Windows+R on your keyboard and delete LauncherSettings.json file from inside Artificial Core\Corepunk Then close and open launcher again.

If you have game installed in non-default location the launcher will show "Install" button. Don't press it, instead close launcher and navigate to LauncherSettings.json again and alter the "GameRootFolder" value to your game client path (IMPORTANT! remember about double slashses \\ in .json paths so C:\\Corepunk not C:\Corepunk ), then add following lines after "GameRootRCFolder"
"GameCommand": "Corepunk.exe",
"GameVersion": "current version of game installation (ask in discord @sebastius)",

Fixes above didn't work

Start from the scratch:

1. Download and Install the New Launcher: Download the latest version of the launcher from the official website. Delete the old launcher from your system (using unis00.exe or deleting the folder with the launcher), into the easily accessible folder that is not system protected (so not in Program Files but straight on C or in folder you created like "Games" etc.).

2. Synchronise Your Windows Time: Right-click the clock on your taskbar and select Adjust Date/Time. Click Sync Now (If your time synchronisation fail follow this guide).

3. Clear Old Data: Press Windows + R to open the Run box. Type %localappdata% and press Enter in the box. Locate and delete the folder named Artificial Core. If you cannot find this folder ensure you have checked "hidden files" or create one yourself and leave it empty.

4. Launch the New Launcher: Open the newly installed launcher.

5. Optimise CPU Affinity Settings: Press Ctrl + Shift + Escape to open Task Manager. Navigate to the Details tab, find Corepunk Launcher.exe, right-click it, select Set Affinity, and set it to use only CPU cores 0, 2, 4, 6.

6. Complete the Login and Download Process: Log in through the launcher and begin the download and update process.

Help, it still doesn't work!

Feel free to ask in #🔐launcher-and-keys on the official game discord. Either reach out to SsebastiusS or simply post your problem with description / what you already tried and someone from the mod team or community should show up in attempt to help.

I have issues with memory leaks during installation or gameplay, is there something I can do?

Memory leaks or system slowdowns during use are often caused by large standby memory buildup and low free RAM. Installing ISLC can help by automatically clearing the list when it gets too big and free memory which can help easen the memory leaks game and launcher has.

Follow these steps to install Intelligent Standby List Cleaner (ISLC) and configure it for optimal use:

1. Download ISLC from the official site of its developer Wagnardsoft

2. Double click the exe and choose a folder where ISLC will unpack:
- Extract the ZIP archive to a permanent folder, such as C:\Tools\ISLC.
- After extracting right-click ISLC.exe and choose Run as Administrator.

3. Enable these options inside ISLC (bottom left corner):
- Start ISLC minimized and auto-start monitoring
- Launch ISLC on user logon

4. Set the memory thresholds based on your installed RAM size (tuned settings shown in table below setup steps).

5. Click Start in the main ISLC window to begin monitoring. The program will now manage standby memory automatically in the background and you can minimise it.

RAM Size Standby List Size ≥ Free Memory ≤
16 GB 1024 MB 4096 MB
32 GB 2048 MB 8192 MB
64 GB 4096 MB 12288 MB

Example set up and running ISLC for 16GB RAM PC.
